The next morning we found the trailhead which was in the most peculiar spot...hidden behind an RV storage facility...and we were on our way.
Merill and Nancy had stayed behind with Ben and had plans to hike it later.
We found some rocks that Ben would have appreciated...
It was a hot, dry hike...not normally my favorite type but the distraction of finding fun rocks made it bearable :)
Here are some of the ones I appreciated...
These are the rocks I painted and placed...
And we finally made it to the top
That's Andy's turquoise and orange arrow right on the flag stand.
Took a few pics at the apex...
(Matt was thrilled)
Checked out the rocks...
...and headed back down...
This one is from Andy's camera...I'm pretty sure it is from one of his morning jaunts and doesn't really go here but I'm throwing it in anyway :)
After the hike we met up with Merill, Nancy and Ben and had lunch at Zuppas...
Then, Andy and Ben waited patiently in the car for me and the other kids to visit Sweet Rolled Tacos again!
Back to the pool.
Although it was a bit chilly this day so we didn't stick around too long.
The next day we headed home...
On the way home we converged with James who was on his way home from Cedar City.
We met in Beaver at The Creamery and had some yummy food and ice cream. It was so fun to catch up with James. Because of COVID we were all starved for familial contact :)
I had to get a pic of Ben double handing his fries...that's how I always feel around good fries :)
Other than looking very hot and dry, that appears to be a fun hike with all the rocks. So many clever ones. I really liked your choices of rocks. Yes, Matt looks thrilled--and Abby and Josh appear to be blessing the rocks. :) That is a sweet shot of Abby and Ben at lunch. All the kids, including Matt, DO appear thrilled with their Sweet Rolled Tacos.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Ben got more pool time, and Josh got to practice his Dead Man's float.
So happy to see the photos from the Creamery. And Ben two-fisting the fries just makes me think of Jo when we ate one time at Frontier Pies and he was probably two. He even put a handful of them under one arm so he could grab another handful. LOL
