June Odds and Ends

I thought this was adorable...

We are so excited about a commission we are waiting on from our sister in law, T!
She had us come to her studio one day to make sure we were happy with how things were going.
We made some minor changes but are very excited to see the outcome and hang it in a prominent spot in our home!

After we checked out the painting we went and strolled through Summer Fest at the fair grounds, then on to an institute summer activity up at MS1 (Married Student First Stake Center).
After sticking around there for a while we went to Center Street Pizza and ordered some food to take home.  While we waited for our pizzas we sat in the fun alley way under the umbrellas.

Ben was being extra cute one Sunday afternoon lining up his animals under the "Jesus Movies".

I wish I would have gotten more pics of this anticipated event at our house.
One early morning we had 3 pallets of sod delivered and close to 20 people (between family members, ward members and Andy's faculty members) show up to help.
I had run to Einstein Bagels and Maceys earlier to grab some food for the blessed people that came.
We were so grateful and humbled to have so much support from friends and family.
It was so amazing to look out the windows and see green again!  It had been 2 years since we had been able to do that so it was a marvelous sight!

Another time when Ben found Andy resting.
He peeked through the pillows see his face and Andy snapped this while he did so.

Some adorable pictures my mom took of Ben and Dad while they were performing their usual Sabbath dome ritual in the loft bedroom.

T took this picture...I wish she would have been in it but we are grateful she caught this shot of everyone else at a family dinner one June Sunday while the Callisters were in town.

Of course, games while everyone was together!!!

A cute little pic that Jo took :)

And then some screen shots (of mostly BeReals)
The first one is Abby calling Ben on his birthday and second just an adorable smile I caught from Ben on my BeReal.

A screenshot from a Marco Polo with Abs with her showing me the beautiful baby deer in her backyard.

So fun to see snapshots of her days through BeReal...

She is having a blast up north!
So many fun adventures!!!

June Cookies

My friend Trudy asked me to do some wedding shower cookies for her daughter.
It was a tea party.  That was about the only direction she gave me so I enjoyed having some creative license.

These were a little stressful but I enjoyed working on my tipless florals.

Then I had a baby shower order.
She not only gave me creative license, she had me choose the theme!
Haha!  She said it was kind of a last minute shower that her mother in law asked her to throw so she said she would just decorate to go along with whatever theme I chose :)
Baby in Bloom is a popular baby shower theme right now and I thought it would be an easy last minute theme for her to decorate for.

All boxed up and ready to go.

Last minute I decided I should probably do some cookies for my father in law's 80th celebration.
Well, he is a fisherman and a cowboy at heart so I took those two themes and came up with four designs.

I wish I would have had time to perfect these a little more.
Especially this one...the background layers needed to be more similar in consistency I think so they could meld together better and be smooth between colors.

Merill's 80th Celebration

For Merill's 80th birthday we all gathered at Jordanelle Reservoir.
A bunch of us took turns playing ball with Ben.  Here he has roped Andy, Dan and Todd into a game :)

Matt played a lot of spike ball with the guys.

Nancy was eager to get a bunch of group pics :)
Here are the guys.  It was amazing we got Ben smiling!

And then all the grandkids present (minus Ben and plus James :)

All the grandkids including Ben (and James :)

We spent another couple of days in Park City with the group.
Ben had to learn how to share his usual toys with some younger babies :)
There were some moments but no one was permanently injured 😬

Lyndi and Jenny put together a fun mega bingo game for everyone.
Andy was encouraged by Lyndi to write a poem with the help of AI.
He took it and turned it into a song.
He and Todd performed it with much laughing involved :)

Some cousin bonding after Sacrament meeting...

I loved seeing all these white shirts as they gathered 'round the table to play a game!

And Ben found the birthday boy to play ball with him.
