So, I think I've mentioned before that I have a thing with bees. I don't know why but I've always been fascinated by them.
I found this guy hanging out on my car window one day while waiting for a soccer game to start.
So for a while I've been collecting bee fabric with the intent to do a bee quilt one day. My sister started doing tiny 1/4 " hexies and has been making super cute things with them. I decided I had to do my bee quilt in hexies...because you know...hexagon/honeycomb stuff :)
While she was in town a couple of months ago she taught me how to do them.
With some birthday money I ordered a bunch more fabric online.
Aren't these just the best kind of mail days?
So fun!
Here's a picture of all the ones I ordered...
And these were the ones I already had on hand...
All together they make a fun collection of scrappy bee fabric. I didn't want it all to match. I'm finding I really like themed scrap quilts.
And speaking of addicting...and bees...
I reluctantly admit that I enjoy a good game of Candy Crush and Farm Heroes and a more recent discovery...
Disco Bees!
It's just like those other games. Same idea, but there are more sides to match...and the music is pretty groovy :)
The perfect game for a bee lover!
You should come and visit - my husband seems to have a new love for bees, and is now a beekeeper! Love all of your bee fabrics, and WOW what a fun mail day you had! Love your hexies - looking forward to seeing your progress.
