Abby had another successful year of Hula...
...and the recital was as fun as ever!
Sheba always gives out several leis (the real deal) in the beginning to all sorts of different people that she wants to honor. She did the same this year and then announced she wanted all the fathers to come up and receive one since it was close to Father's Day. There must have been close to 50 dads walk up and get a hug and a lei. The sad thing was, Andy was late coming because he was wrangling Ben, trying to get him ready to come. He missed it by just a few minutes :(
Abby's dances were awesome!
Grandma Jannie, Uncle Jo, Aunt Angie and Maggie all came to watch Abby dance.
It was the first time Ang and Jo had been to a recital so it was fun to have them there.
Poi balls is always such a crowd pleaser!
Funny story:
Just a couple of hours before Abby was supposed to be there I had a thought that Abby might need to try on her black skirt that she hadn't worn since last year and make sure it fit.
It wasn't even close :)
I started making phone calls to see if there was any extra black skirt out there that would fit.
Nothing!
Finally, I ended up running to the sweet lady that makes all the costumes and very apologetically, asking if there was anything she could do to make the skirt fit. She had a bunch of other things she was working on last minute already so I felt so bad springing it on her at such short notice.
She said she would see what she could do.
When she met us in the dressing room an hour or two later she said she hadn't had time to work on it so she had just grabbed one of her black skirts from her closet and hoped we could pin it to fit Abby.
I guess I could have done the same thing but didn't think it was an option since my black skirt is a different style and Sheba is very particular about everything being exactly right.
Well, bless her heart, it worked and no one was the wiser...especially Sheba :)
This is an event I look forward to. It is always so fun to see Abby perform. Saw Sheba in the store the other day and spoke with her. She seems to have a high regard for your daughter.
