The fam went down to the airport to retrieve Abby from her trip.
It was fun to see her have such a hard time saying goodbye to these people she had only known for two weeks. They bonded pretty strongly!
On the way back home we stopped to get some food and there was such a downpour! I don't know if I have ever seen anything like it! We saw multiple manhole covers that had been blown off from all the water...
Went to Cubby's...
Ben was not thrilled with the situation...
At home, Abby passed out gifts...
Two weeks later there was a reunion for anyone that went to an HXP even that summer. It was held in Ogden so Abby and I went down and right as we get out of the car and join the crowd we experienced another huge downpour!
We all ran for the pavilion but it was no use...even standing in the middle, the wind was so strong that my backside got SOAKED! After waiting for a little while and the rain let up a bit I went to the car thinking most people would probably go home. I told Abby where I would be and to let me know her plans. I sat there for half an hour before Abby texted me and said her one of her parent trip leaders, "Mama C" asked where I was and wanted to talk to me. So I went back out and we stayed until the end and salvaged the evening. It ended up being great talking to some other parents and meeting some of the kids :)
Crazy connection with Abby, her Tahiti trip, and rain in Utah! I have never seen rain so hard that the manhole covers come off.
