Birthday cookies for the year...
Ben participated in special olympics basketball.
Josh and I showed up and watched for just a minute before he spotted us.
He looked so thrilled to be there :)
There it is...that's where he saw us...
And from then on it was game over...he kept trying to get out of his chair so Mayson just had him pulled from the game so we could hang out on the sidelines together.
After a while they tried to put him back in but it didn't work too well.
I love Ty checking in on him here...
I think they tried to have him throw the ball in here...it ended up just being rolled off his lap if I recall correctly :)

In between games some ladies from the university tried to get Ben to try out some adaptive equipment. He was so not interested and they didn't seem to clue into that. It actually ended up being kind of a frustrating experience because they kept trying to push it and he wasn't having it.

The Monday after prom a sweet girl from Ben's class dropped a poster off asking Matt to Spring Fling.
It was tricky though because that day at school, Kayla had talked to Matt about how she was going to ask him and he basically said he would go with her. It was just a few minutes later that Kayla called me and asked me where Matt's car was (Josh had taken it to something he had going on that night). She was trying to hurry since she had heard that there was another girl that was going to ask him that same night. I let her know it had already happened but I opened the garage door for her so she could use the van to ask him.
Matt ended up talking to the first girl and explaining that he had already agreed to go with someone but that he would like to take her on a different date.
So a few weeks later, he and Gabe Fenton and Kenna Brand and this cute girl went on a group date to an inclusive dance that Ridgeline hosted. I think it all turned out okay.

All of the institute directors were asked to host a date night with their wives in January.
We had a dinner and then a little bit of a presentation.
There was a great turnout (including Josh and Maleia Malan...the first time he asked a girl out...we were so proud of him :) I think we sold out of our 500ish tickets we had available.
It was a really fun evening and we had a great response from the students!
Brent Fillmore pushed to get it in the church news...which ended up being kind of fun because Nephew Jake on his mission down in Peru saw it and mentioned it in his weekly email :)
