James wanted to start a new Christmas tradition for the Olsen family.
After discussing it with Mom they decided the day after Christmas would be best.
The idea of the evening was to have everyone do themed charcuterie boards and then play games where we earn fake money and then have an auction to spend the money on prizes.
He cleverly named it Board and Game Night :)
I was so sad I didn't end up getting any pictures of the beautiful boards.
Mine ended up having the theme of European treats from the European food market in town. I spent some money and time there that morning in heaven picking out some fun looking treats :)
I will try and limit the pictures but I want to show all of the different games and i have pics of most everyone participating at different times so I will need to be choosy here...
Game #1:
Rolling a can of soda and seeing which dollar bill it stops on
Game #2:
Dart gun shooting at targets worth different amounts.
Game #3:
scooping up money with a spatula while blindfolded (probably the most entertaining one to watch).
Game #4:
Throwing suction darts at different valued shapes on the fridge.
And the final game, Game #5:
Bouncing/throwing ping pong balls into different valued receptacles.
And then the climax of the evening, having Jo and James host the auction with Jo trying to sell the items :)
It really was quite entertaining...Ben especially was amused :)
It was a super fun evening!
James put a lot of work into it and we are all excited to make it an annual event.
The next day we had a Kidd family lunch at our stake center.
Since Herm and Norma are on their mission in the Philippines and Norma is the usual instigator, this was pretty low key but a success. We had a good turnout. I feel bad that I didn't get pics! I guess I was too busy getting loves from this guy!
And another fail at getting pics :(
We went to Park City for a few days during the holiday break and these were the only pictures I got.
On the day we were leaving, all the kids came to breakfast, quite unintentionally, in either white, black or gray.
Board and games night was very clever, and so much fun. Thanks for hosting.
