Double Digits for Abs

Abby turned 10 the end of October.
I'm sure I've mentioned before, but her uncle James has his birthday the day after Abby's so we always celebrate them together on the nearest Sunday at Grandma's house.
Silly Kids!

Andy is awesome about making breakfast special on birthdays.  He always buys something fun for the kids to enjoy on their special day.
He baked cinnamon rolls for Abby and had a peach smoothie waiting for her that she really enjoys.

Abby's school teacher this year is not a fan of singing so at the beginning of the year she taught them a dance that goes along with an out of the ordinary birthday song.
She plays the music and everyone does the birthday dance to celebrate.

It was also "Crazy Hair Day" at the school.
I usually end up taking donuts into the classroom on the kids' birthdays.
Kind of a fun tradition they look forward to.

The Bryan grandparents came that afternoon.

Posing as the Statue of Liberty with her new knitting tools :)

We enjoyed a dinner at The Pizza Factory.

They brought out a special birthday treat for her.

After dinner we came home and opened family gifts.

Abby is so into foxes right now.  I saw these online a month or two ago and had to get them!

So fun :)

Here's Abby opening up a large, heavy box that has been sitting in my closet for a couple of months also.  Towards the beginning of the school year Abby read the first book of the Nancy Drew series.  She really enjoyed it and hinted that it would be fun to get the whole set like Josh got the whole set of the Hardy Boys for one of his birthdays.

I was worried that she would change her mind but thankfully, she was still excited about them.

Abby requested a Cookie Dough Cold Stone cake.

Immediately after this picture was taken Abby made a face and said that her stomach hurt really badly.
She went into her bedroom and ended up in tears because of the pain.
We decided to hold off on the cake until the next night with her permission.
It took a while, but eventually she was able to get rid of whatever was in her stomach that was causing the trouble.  I felt so bad for her ending her birthday on such a sour note.
However, I was really glad that it seemed to just be something that she had eaten and not an illness.

Love my Abby Girl and I am so pleased with the young woman she is becoming.

  2. Well, I am a little late to the party (as usual), but it looks like it was loads of fun.
One of these days I'd like to see that birthday dance.
Abby is a sweetheart, with very foxy feet. : )
