Misc...

This post marks the end of my "catching up".
It's just a few random things that I wanted to document.

Ben's teacher texts cute pictures to me every now and then.
Apparently they had a circus day in the spring and Ben was the sweetest, little clown!

All last school year I was able to take Institute classes from my amazing husband.  I loved being in his classes, learning the gospel and getting to know his students.
Not the best picture, but here he is doing a role play with one of the students.
This coming year, he won't be teaching traditional classes as he is the new pre-service trainer and will be teaching people that want to become seminary teachers, but I think I will still crash a class or two :)

My beautiful mom and me on Mother's Day...

My kiddos and my dad on Father's Day...

And lastly, I got another mini quilted...
My mom gave me this as a flimsy many months ago.  I had it marked and ready to quilt for quite a while and finally got around to it the last month or so.

I love the colors in it...such a unique combination.
It was a good little practice quilt.
I think I may need to start a mini wall or two like my mom has :)

The 4thish

The weekend before the 4th we went to Park City to hang out with Andy's family.
Our kids had never done the Alpine Slide so Andy decided it was about time they did.

First time on a ski lift for the three of them...
(I know, we live in Utah, have family in Park City, and they've never been skiing.  Poor, deprived children :(

Toting their sleds to the starting line...

All ready to go!

Apparently everyone loved it...especially Matt I'm sure :)
Ben was in heaven splashing around in the kiddie pool one afternoon...

Cousin Carter decided Ben needed a little more water :)

Those two were also buds throwing the ball back and forth.
We wouldn't let Ben go outside but he wanted the ball Carter was playing with so...
the next thing we knew, they had worked it out themselves.
They played for quite a while this way...Ben in and Carter out but both super happy :)

We had to hurry home the night of the 3rd since Josh had to leave for scout camp early the next morning.  He went to Camp Loll.
Andy was unable to be there for the full time but went up and spent one night and did their big hike with them the next day.

The hike was the only part of camp that Josh was a bit concerned about.
They ended up hiking about 18 miles that day.  They were also able to stop a couple of times and enjoy the scenery and refreshment along the way :)
It sounds like it was a good experience for him and not as bad as he thought it might be.

Andy was sure to document that he was there...

Union Falls...

Josh came home whole and happy.  We had missed him in our home but were happy he was able to have the experience and that he actually enjoyed it :)

Kidd Reunion 2016

Not a whole lot of pictures from this event but here's what I did get...

Grandpa and Matt took to the tennis courts for a bit...

Visiting with cousins...

LUNCH

"Roll doubles and get a whack at the candy bars wrapped in plastic" game

And it wouldn't be the Kidd reunion without the water slide that Ben adores...

Signing "water" to Josh...

His two favorite things...water and a ball!
It just doesn't get any better than this :)

Ho'ike 2016

Abby had another successful year of Hula...

...and the recital was as fun as ever!
Sheba always gives out several leis (the real deal) in the beginning to all sorts of different people that she wants to honor.  She did the same this year and then announced she wanted all the fathers to come up and receive one since it was close to Father's Day.  There must have been close to 50 dads walk up and get a hug and a lei.  The sad thing was, Andy was late coming because he was wrangling Ben, trying to get him ready to come.  He missed it by just a few minutes :(

Abby's dances were awesome!

We had some great support from family.

Grandma Jannie, Uncle Jo, Aunt Angie and Maggie all came to watch Abby dance.

It was the first time Ang and Jo had been to a recital so it was fun to have them there.

Poi balls is always such a crowd pleaser!

Funny story:
Just a couple of hours before Abby was supposed to be there I had a thought that Abby might need to try on her black skirt that she hadn't worn since last year and make sure it fit.
It wasn't even close :)
I started making phone calls to see if there was any extra black skirt out there that would fit.
Nothing!
Finally, I ended up running to the sweet lady that makes all the costumes and very apologetically, asking if there was anything she could do to make the skirt fit.  She had a bunch of other things she was working on last minute already so I felt so bad springing it on her at such short notice.
She said she would see what she could do.
When she met us in the dressing room an hour or two later she said she hadn't had time to work on it so she had just grabbed one of her black skirts from her closet and hoped we could pin it to fit Abby.
I guess I could have done the same thing but didn't think it was an option since my black skirt is a different style and Sheba is very particular about everything being exactly right.
Well, bless her heart, it worked and no one was the wiser...especially Sheba :)
