Unified soccer at MC!

I got a text from Ben's teacher a few minutes before I left for the games asking if I were coming and if I could bring his chair.  Apparently, he had been doing so well that morning that she didn't think she needed to bring his from school.  However, when they got there he sat himself down and wouldn't budge.

I was planning to stay hidden so I wouldn't distract Ben, so I  got the chair to his teacher without him seeing me.  However, we soon realized he wouldn't get in the chair unless I helped so he found out I was there pretty fast.

He seemed to be just fine once he was in...showing his shoes and shirt to everyone :)

His old friend Sam who now attends MC came and found Ben to say hi.

Then Ben got on the field...

Bless the girl's heart who was running him around!

Ben kept a close eye on me where I stood on the sidelines.

A few times his nice friends would bring him over to say hi and show me his stuff.

It was quite the day!

I was glad that Ben participated even though he knew I was there...that is an improvement over other events in the past :)

Ben and the Homecoming Parade

Ben was invited with his class to be on the Homecoming Parade Float for Unified Sports.

Sometimes I don't know if things like this are going to be worth it or too much hassle but I decided Ben would probably enjoy it since he likes being the center of attention.

However, when we pulled into the school parking lot, he started saying "no".  I think he thought we were on our way to see "Bapa".  I was hoping he would kind of get into the spirit of things the longer he was there, but I don't think he really ever did.

I was at the beginning and the end and as soon as he saw me as they were coming back into the parking lot he started trying to get off so I sat with him for a second and he immediately started signing "car" wanting to go back home 😂

Oh well, I thought I was doing what he would want by taking him but I don't know if he really enjoyed any of it.  You just never know :)

September Flowers (and a couple of cute kids)

A couple of my orchids (same color and size) have started doing something odd...new leaves and roots coming off of bloom stem ends.  Not quite sure what to do with that :)

Had fun playing with some pumpkins and dried flowers.

We had quite a weekend at the flower shop with 3 dances, two funerals and two weddings.

One of the dance orders asked if we could make it look Emo.  I took on the challenge and actually really liked the outcome although they might be considered more Goth than Emo.  

Another of my favorites from the weekend...

I was given this big, beautiful bouquet after Andy and I spoke at our Stake Women's Conference.

I complemented the grower/designer and the next thing I knew it was on my doorstep!

And one day when he had meetings down in Orem he texted Abby and told her where he was so she came to say hi.  I thought it was a great pic!

Back to School For Ben

This handsome guy started his Senior year!

In the second picture I caught him saying "bus".  He was so excited to ride the bus again :)

I have been driving him to school for the last 4 years so he could have extra time to sleep since the bus would have come and picked him up at a ridiculously early hour to take him to school that is literally 3 minutes away.  Well, this year, the driver said they would be coming at a more reasonable time and so I decided to let him ride again.  However, long story short, the first week didn't go to smoothly with the route so they had to keep inching the time earlier and earlier (and even change buses) to where he is now pretty much getting on at the same time I refused to have him picked up in years past :(

Oh well, we've gotten kind of used to it and it is working out okay so we will stick with it for now.

August Odds and Ends

       My cute neighbor had a baby shower and I offered to make cookies with the theme 

"Love You to The Moon and Back".

Like usual, they didn't quite turn out like I had envisioned...and the sprinkles were a problem when I packaged them, but oh well :)

I have a friend who has a beautiful little flower farm close by and she had some friends come and spend an evening with a photography to get shots for her website.

This was the bouquet that I made and brought home.

Our wonderful pediatrician who knew Ben and treated us so well retired and so we had to start taking him to our family Dr. for a medication issue.  I sent this to Andy while we were waiting for him to come in.
