We planned two beach days during the trip and the for the first one we decided to go up to La Jolla.
We stopped by Von's to get some lunch food.
I was blown away by their floral section!
We found a spot to squeeze into at La Jolla Shores beach and
Ben promptly fell asleep while we ate lunch.
The kids had a blast playing in the water...as did I.
I love the ocean!
We had never really been to a warm beach together as a family so this was a new experience.
We had bought a boogie board and everyone enjoyed riding the waves in on it (or without it after it broke :)
After a few hours Ben woke up and we were able to get him in the water a bit. He seemed to enjoy it as long as we didn't go in too far.
He kept signing "water" :)
He sat and did his iPad while the rest of us cleaned up
We spent a little too much time in the sun...even though we put on sunscreen, Abby, Matt and I got totally fried. :(
We were all pretty tuckered out (even Ben slept great after his long nap in the sand :)
What a fun time! Loved all the photos of the sand and water play (and nap).
ReplyDeleteWe never took you kids to a warm ocean beach, did we? I went with my family when I was small, but then my Mom grew up going to the beach in California, so when we lived there for a year, we did have family trips to the beach.
p.s. That is an amazing floral department!!
