Wrappings Up and Windings Down

Seminary Graduation

While talking to some people, Katie took the graduates from our ward (minus Brooke Anderson who had already left) and snapped some pics.

Then she started getting creative :)

Proud of Matt for finishing and for doing the little bit of make up work required before graduation...I'm telling you...that Senioritis!

That last week of school was the Riverhawk Walk for the Seniors.  I knew Matt didn't think it was a big deal and wouldn't want me to come so I skipped it but Benji's mom sent me some pics.

Last choir concert...

Matt participated in both Resonance and Rhapsody again this trimester.

And the seniors were recognized...
That's a whole lot of seniors in the choir!

'Da Boyz' as Matt would say with Tim Stewart, their director who was new this year.
Matt really liked Tim and had some nice, long talks about life with him...intermixed with learning his Singin in the Rain songs during 5th hour 2nd trimester.

Benji, Matt, Chasen and Dax Quilter.
The Quilters moved here just this past year from Missouri and they have been a fabulous addition to Matt's group of friends.
(There was some kind of story behind Chasen's hair but I didn't get the details)

It had been a while since I had done any cookies...since Singin' in the Rain...and I had a hankering to do some graduation sets.  I wanted to make some for Matt and his friends but as I suspected, he was not super interested in handing them out to anyone (I don't blame him) so I set aside a set for him and put the rest on Instagram to sell.  I have had people inquire before if I had cookies for sale for different occasions so I thought they might sell well.  I had about 15 sets.  Only two of them sold.  I was quite disappointed and had a whole lot extra cookies that I didn't know what to do with.
I ended up giving a few away when I had the chance and froze the rest.

I think I have learned my lesson about making cookies and hoping to sell them without a request.

Tony Awards

So, this is a long, many pictured post.
And for some reason my pictures didn't turn out very good either so basically, it's a long post with a lot of blurry pictures...sorry :(

Theater Presidency

 Seniors

The seniors sang and danced to 'Seize the Day' from Newsies.
(And these next few pictures are from my mom so they look better :)

Then there was recognition of achievements and induction for new members.
Matt reached his goal of receiving the theater stole for graduation by participating in a certain number of theater events etc.

Then he and Maggie received an award for best individual event for competition.

Then a performance of 'Belly Up'

a

The Dulce Trio from Molly Brown...

Then Matt, Sam and Katherine won Best Trio for 'Good Mornin'

Matt and Sam were such gentlemen and helped each other off the stage...

...and then performed 'Moses Supposes'...my favorite number from the year!  I absolutely loved getting a chance to see them do it again!!!

When they really started tapping about here...I heard a guy behind me that must not have seen the show say, "Wow!"

Then, the number 'Singin' in the Rain'...

Then the seniors did the Improv game 'Murder, Murder'.
The prompt was Bill Nye (the Science Guy) at the Eiffel Tower with a pickle.

The new presidency for next year was announced...

An encore showing of The Royal Rascal :)

The presidency sang their farewell song...

And that was the end...
There were pictures afterward with the old and new presidencies...

They had pictures and write ups of all the seniors...

It was an emotional night as the reality that all of this amazingness was ending came on full force.

Everyone pulled themselves together for pics on the red carpet though...

And I know you won't believe me but I literally deleted over half of the pictures I had for this night from the post.  So... you're welcome :)
