Mushroom Cookies and Harry Potter

My cute SIL does a Harry Potter party each year and when I asked what I could do to help she invited me to come up with a mushroom dessert of some sort.

I, of course, wanted to do cookies but wasn't sure if I could come up with a good enough looking 3-D version...having never really done dimensional cookies.

I thought and planned and searched and came up with a idea.

Things actually pretty much worked on my first attempt which was a relief!

                                

There were some clever costumes.

Jo and T were the front and backend of a centaur :)

Very last minute, I pulled out our old HP robes and ties.

Ben was the only one that fit in the robe so the boys dug through T's costume collection when we got there and found these beauties :)

Ben lasted for a little bit before hedging for the rest of the evening.

   

Andy came late as he had been at the new institute building for the open house.

He did come in costume though :)

T always provides such a spread!

Jenna and JJ's baby James was such a cute chunk!

Matt took a turn holding him and we couldn't ever tell if he was about to laugh or cry!

He was too adorable!

        

        

It was a fun evening!
