Memorial Day 2014

We visited three cemeteries on Memorial Day...

I'm not very good about buying flowers for all the graves, but I make sure I always find something in my garden for Grandpa O.'s grave.
He's the only grandparent that I've lost so far...and even then, I knew him growing up until I was 27.  I have very clear and sweet memories of him and will be blessed to have that with all of my grandparents after they pass on.
Some purple columbine and a "chocolate soldier" peony.

I also put some of my pink lilacs on the grave of the aunt that I never knew.
She only lived for a few hours after she was born.

We do all the grave visiting with my mom's side of the family and then we head to a park and have a picnic.

That smile just gets to me :)

Me working on my hexies.

Ben and "Bapa" doing wheels on the bus on my phone.

Of course we had to play on the playground too.

And no memorial day is complete without horseshoes and frisbee golf.
