Ogden Union Station Gala

It was the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike at Promontory Point and there were several events in conjunction with that.
Because of a funeral that Andy was helping with, we weren't able to go to the actual Golden Spike celebration but we did attend the Ogden Union Station Gala the night before.
Here we are at the mixer...
Along with Merill and Nancy, Lance, Sheryl, Zach and Dave came...

At the gala there was an incredible train scene made out of balloons...

An awesome "Big Band" band provided the music for the evening...

and the food was fancy...

It was a super fun atmosphere with people dressed up in period costume and also some super fancy formals...

I just loved the music and the professional dancers...
"Puttin' on the Ritz"

Andrews Sisters imitators...

"Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy"

I never feel like I really belong at any of these fancy things we go to with Merill and Nancy but they sure are fun!

Josh's 16th Birthday

Wow!
My little Joshy is 16!  I can't believe it!

Aren't they cute?

Even though the lighting is terrible and it doesn't relate much to Josh's birthday other than it WAS his birthday, I had to include this picture and be real about how our family Come Follow Me study SOMETIMES goes down....other times it's much better :)

At Mom and Dad's house...

Grandpa was a really good sport and played a new game with the kids...

Happy Birthday Handsome Josh!
We sure love him and are proud of the young man he has become!

Drifting Through the Digital

Now to catch up on May...

The beginning of the month, we drove down to Salt Lake and met up with Jo, T, Jen (T's mom) and my parents to see T's art installation in conjunction with her thesis.

We met up for lunch first...

And then we went to one of the libraries at the U where it was on display...

I don't feel super qualified to explain it but basically it was about the environmental impact of digital storage...I think that is accurate...

I've done vinyl before, but never this big and this much...So Much Work!

We were all very impressed...except for Ben :)
(We're still getting used to this chair and need to find ways to make it comfy for him.)

I wish I felt more qualified to expound upon her findings and opinions but all I can say is that it made sense when she explained it and it was very interesting!

Way to go T!

Here we were trying to imitate our favorite vinyl picture...

Afterwards we met up with Merill and Nancy for some ice cream in Ogden...

It's always good to spend time with family!
It's a bonus when you get both sides in one day :)
